CONNECT ASP Overview

What is an ASP?

The term "ASP" (Application Service Provider in this case) was voted the most overused acronym in the IT industry in 2000. While there has been a lot of hype around it's potential, most ASPs were just beginning to define the value they offered to both their customers and the application vendors whose applications they were hosting back then. In general "ASPs provide a contractual service offering to deploy, host, manage and rent access to an application from a centrally managed facility." Why use an ASP?

Application Service Providers are able to deliver applications to end users more reliably and cost effectively than the traditional client/server networking model. Server-based, thin-client computing aggregates resources on servers more efficiently and all studies show it to be a better model of networking. By aggregating resources further, including the hardware, software, bandwidth, security, power, HVAC, and support staff into a datacenter, ASPs can deliver enterprise class solutions with redundancy for a monthly subscription price that is often times lower than what businesses would pay to install lesser solutions in-house. This model not only cuts costs for enterprise class server solutions, but conserves capital and empowers ASP customers to concentrate on their businesses and strategic objectives (what they do best), leaving the computing issues to specialist ASPs like CONNECT.

CONNECTAPPS.net - An Ideal ASP

CONNECT delivers the promise of better networking and better business with the ideal model - the ASP model - from a position of great strength and efficiency. While other ASP's came and went, we had the advantage of an ongoing network integration practice to transform in a timely and optimal manner into a "computing cooperative" without excessive costs or what's known as "burn rate". Given that we have been doing enterprise networks since 1985 and adding the ASP practice in 1999, we have the requisite longevity, depth of expertise and experience to make it the best practical solution for most small to medium businesses and enterprises (SMB's, SME's).

CONNECTAPPS.net is dedicated to application, e-mail and web hosting delivered from CONNECT's professionally managed data center. Application delivery via Citrix and Softricity offers the highest levels of uptime and reliability, low maintenance and seamless remote access. As a Microsoft Solution Provider and Subscription Partner/Service Provider we are uniquely qualified to offer traditional systems and/or the benefit of a truly "pay as you go" Microsoft software rental service. We host a variety of applications for SMB's/SME's from "shrink wrap" programs like QuickBooks, Peachtree, MAS 90, ACT, Goldmine, and MS Office, to custom line of business applications for industries including Fire and Security, Financial, Insurance, HealthCare, Legal, Manufacturing and Beauty.

As the central computing and data center model lends itself so well to disaster recovery and business continuity (DR) and DR requires network engineering skills such as ours, we offer CONNECTDR.net. CONNECTDR.net capitalizes on data center capacity and expertise, offering Business Continuity - functioning as a hot or warm site fail-over for data and applications.

CONNECT Computer as a leading full service provider of enterprise network integration, hosting and business continuity, leverages thin-client, server-based computing technology for cost savings and efficiency gains, making us the best single source for outsourcing your applications, networking and support for maximum performance and return on investment.
